Eurovision last night, where Euro-poppers, cross dressers and air hostesses all come together and have one big sing-a-long! There were 24 countries taking part, there had been a semi-final on Thursday, where all the western European countries which aren't already through automatically were knocked out. Switzerland (of of the many countries I'm from :D) were knocked out, and they were one of the favourites. Anyway, the final was brilliantly cheesy. I voted for Sweden, The Ark, I'm downloading their song right now, it was pretty good. Some of the Swedish guys at MFC had the lyrics on their sigs and I never really knew what it was all about until I heard the song, I'm the Worrying Kind. I got a bit scared when he took his jacket off though, he's very pale (I shouldn't complain, I'm not the most tanned person in the world. My nan said that if I don't get enough sun I'll get SAD, some sort of sun deficiency. I remember watching a TV show though, and I'm sure that SAD stands for sudden adult death. But that's irrelevant) Scooch (The UK entry) were great, I seriously thought we had a chance of possibly getting some votes. The Ukrainian entry was pretty strange too, a drag queen with a huge star on her/his head. And the dance moves were pretty... erm...different as well (Check out what he/she does at the end. LOL) When it came down to who voted for who, there was a lot of block voting going on. It was inevitable that an eastern European country was gonna win, they always give the top marks to each other. It was nearly a repeat of 2003, when Jemini (Cry, Cry Baby. Yes I still have it on my MP4 and I do listen to it.) got nil points. Thankfully we got 7 off Ireland, who -of course- vote for their neighbours and 12 (!) off Malta who are Eurovision fanatics. Serbia won, but personally I didn't think it was a brilliant song. I can't remember it now.
It was a great show, which went on well into the night, and Terry Wogan's commentary made it even better. Now some vidioes :)
Scooch, flying the flag.
Ukraine's entry. The dancing. Ha!
My favourites, Sweden.
There was also this annoying poroxide blonde Finnish girl in a pink dress who pretended to be in the audience then find out that her dreams would come true and she would be able to interview the contestants. I'll try and find a vidioe of her, her voice is realy high pitched.
